Service The position of Office Administrator supports the NSCSO’s services by being responsible for organising, updating and maintaining the Office Administration.

Service work is Step 12 work, pure and simple. Many of us have found such work to be of profound benefit in our own personal recoveries and heartily recommend it to all.
“NSCSO provides many practical opportunities for AA members to practice the 12th step either in direct contact with the still suffering alcoholic or doing the perhaps less glamorous but just as important support and administrative roles that make it all happen. The programs we run include:

NSCSO WebServant
The position of WebServant supports the NSCSO’s services by providing support on the operation and content of the NSCSO Website (www.nscso.org.au) as well as the NSCSO Microsoft 365 account and services.

NSCSO Trustee (x 3)
Volunteer staffed until: 1 x Feb 2025, 1 x Feb 2026, 1 x Feb 2027
The three positions of Trustee support the NSCSO’s operation by providing governance and stewardship of the traditions and concepts in the servant leadership of the NSCSO Committee.
NSCSO Office Manager
Volunteer staffed until: Feb 2026
The position of Office Manager supports the NSCSO’s services by providing leadership to the Committee members to ensure successful operations of the Office.
NSCSO Literature Officer

The position of Literature Officer supports the NSCSO’s operations of providing the sales of AA approved and non approved literature on requirement of the Groups in Area E by being responsible for the ordering, maintaining and stocking of literature.
NSCSO Treasurer

The position of Treasurer supports the NSCSO’s operations by being responsible for the office finances. We are self-supporting through our member contributions.
NSCSO Secretary

The position of Secretary supports the NSCSO’s operation by being responsible for the production and distribution of the Office meeting minutes. The Office Meeting is held on the 1st week of the month, alternating days from Monday through to Friday.
NSCSO Diverter Switcher Coordinator
Volunteer staffed until: Feb 2026
The position of Diverter Switcher Coordinator supports the NSCSO’s operation of the 24 hour help line by being responsible for the organisation and production of the yearly/monthly Switching Roster and liasing with the other 5 switchers, who “switch” the Diverter over from one diverter volunteer to the next at set times; 5pm Mon to Fri and 9am/ 5pm on Sat and Sun (or public holidays). The Switchers (6 in total) are responsible for this function via an App on their phone or using the internet at home.
NSCSO Diverter Roster Coordinator

The position of Diverter Roster Coordinator supports the NSCSO’s operation of the 24 hour help line by being responsible for the organisation and production of the Diverter Roster. The Diverter is in operation when the Office is closed, overnight from 5pm until 9am weekdays, weekends and public holidays both during the day and overnight.
NSCSO Office Roster Coordinator

The position of Office Roster Coordinator supports the NSCSO’s operation of the by being responsible for the organisation and production of the Office Roster. The Office is in open from 9am until 5pm weekdays, excluding public holidays.
NSCSO Hospitals & Institutions Coordinator
Volunteer staffed until: Feb 2024
AA provides the service of volunteers to 7 Hospitals and Institutions in Area E. Volunteers visit the facilities and share their experience, strength and hope to the recovering alcoholic. Each Hospital or Institution has a roster that is serviced by a Roster Coordinator. The Hospitals & Institutions (H&I) Coordinator supports this service and operation at NSCSO Committee level.
